The project involves the expansion of the station with the installation of combined cycle plants with a total capacity of 450 MW.

LARGE-SCALE MODERNISATION OF UST-KAMENOGORSK CHPP
About the project: The Consortium of SVETOCH LLP (Kazakhstan)/Rusatom Service JSC and Ust-Kamenogorsk CHP LLP signed an agreement on a large-scale modernisation of the Ust-Kamenogorsk CHP. Modernisation provides construction of a new boiler unit with a steam capacity of 420 tons per hour for the CHPP, replacement of the turbine unit with an increase in capacity up to 65 MW and the introduction of a modern system for catalytic nitrogen reduction (SCR), desulphurisation and dust treatment, as well as work on the modernisation of turnkey auxiliary systems.

The Power Plant is designed to burn ordinary coal from Karaganda deposit, the industrial product of its wet enrichment and the screening of the Tashkumir coal.
